Bavarian Bier Cafe, Sydney

Its not every worker that gets the luxury of working within a close proximity to Bavarian Bier Cafe. However if the opportunity ever does arise, Bavarian for lunch is the way to go. Tuesday's $15 Schnitzel Challenge is a must have followed by a free Schnaps - What else more could you ask for? Probably an excuse to drink on the job too.

Pork Schnitzhel Challenge - $15.00

The atmosphere feels pub-ish if that is even a word with a German cultural touch to it - but I guess it is a German restaurant/bar after all. Customer service is fairly good at most times, however when they get busy it can be almost impossible to find a waiter to assist you. However when the restaurant isn't so packed, customer is service is something I can barely complain about; all the waiters and staff are always attentive from your very first step in.

Although one of the down sides is waiting for your food to arrive which can be a bit of a pain, especially when you order in big groups but then again that is some what expected regardless of which ever restaurant you go. From experience, I have once waited for a bit over 15 mins for my lunch!

Chicken Caesar Salad (?) - $20.00

Mussels with Fresh Tomato, Garlic, Chilli Sauce served with french fries/potato - $25.00

Pricing can be a bit of an issue because it is a bit more towards the expensive side where schnitzels can range from $25 to $30. Portions of food which costs about $30 per dish can also be small serving which isn't that great for those who have a large apetitie.

Service (in terms of waiting for your food) may be a bit slow which is also another downside when you are trying to eat around the clock. From experience, I have once waited over 15 mins for my lunch but in saying that, it is still eat-able within one hour!! (Given that you dont go with a massive bunch of say 30 people or so)

Bevarian Tasting Plate - $24.00

If its too far, there is always dinner. There are several locations throughout Sydney starting from Manly, Bondi, Entertainment Quarter, York Street, O'Connnel Street to Parramatta. Dinner menus are always a lot more exciting anyways!

One time however, I went to the Parramatta resturant being quite excited yet only to find out that they had SOLD OUT of mussels. Mind you, this had been at 7pm on a Saturday night. I will not deny that I was extremely dissapointed although I forgave them once I was under the addiction of their mango beer (which is another MUST try).

So for those who have or have not tried and are a big eater, I strongly suggest going on a Tuesday and brace yourself with their Schnitzel Challenge! It never fails to satisfy!
