Adriano Zumbo Patisserie, Balmain

Most of us have either seen Zumbo in action either live or on Master Chef but have you actually tried his famous macaroons and desserts? or should I say have you tried anything else besides his macaroons?

Luckily for me, I managed to grab a couple of things 15 minutes till they closed!! Zumbo's Macaroons are always the most popular thing that usually gets sold out quite fast. His macaroons are soft yet chewy however I personally find them too sweet for my own liking, especially the filling.

Leftover Macaroons - $2.00 each

In my opinion, it is more of a hit and miss when it comes to trying to find one you like. Surprisingly, his chocolate and orange/chocolate one isn't too sweet however ones like the Pear and Pistachio tastes like its covered in nothing but sugar for me.

Selected range of Zumbo's desserts

His desserts can be considered expensive in some people's opinion however you have to remember that you are paying for his skills and talents rather than just what you see.

Mango and coconut cake - $9.00

This mango and coconut cake tasted so awesome. Firstly, must I say, the way this cake has been created and layered is so smart. All the flavours are balanced out so well and the coconut component on the left of the above picture helps spreads out the sweetness of the mango. The size of the cake was also quite big so it would probably be better to share!

Andriano Zumbo

Gotta go eat!!
