Cafe d'Or, Burwood

Never judge a book by it's cover is what I always tell people when they are trying out a restaurant! Cafe d'Or doesn't look that exciting from the outside, especially when the place is pretty much almost empty!

Mixed Grilled Platter - approx $24.95

The wait for the food didn't seem too long, given that all the food had came out in almost one go. When the two mixed grill platters arrive, it definitely did not look that interesting especially since all you could see was a small plate of garlic sauce and two pieces of Lebanese breads.

Mixed Grilled Platter (Lamb, Beef & Chicken) - approx $24.95

When you lift up the Lebanese bread though, that thought completely changes! All that grilled meat looked so good! The meat wasn't overdone which meant that the beef was still nice and chewy! *Extra brownie points there* That piece of Lebanese bread which soaked up all the oil and juices would of been the best piece of bread to wrap up all that meat!

Mixed Platter w/ Lebanese Sausages and Tabouli- approx. $29.95
(Can't recall the exact the name of the dish)

The good thing about this platter as opposed to the other platters is that it came with more things to break up all that meat you are consuming. It also came with other things such as the 'Lebanese Sausages' which however in my opinion wasn't that great as it was a bit dry.

They suggested that each platter will feed about 2 persons, there was 6 of us and we had ordered 3 platters accompanied with unlimited bread and by the end of the night, we were pretty much full. An extra bonus to those who have purchased the 2010/11 Entertainment Book as it comes with a 25% discount for this cafe. That voucher did it's justice because it slashed the bill from about $80 down to $60 which would have worked out to be about $10 a person! What a bargain!! No wonder it is so popular because by the time we left, the whole place was packed out!
