Leura Garage, Leura

Hello long weekend and with the inspiration from A table for two and Simon Food Favourites, a road trip to Leura was definitely to be. Located approximately one and half hours drive from Sydney, is a suburb filled with seriously good food. My stomach was definitely in for a treat. First stop, Leura Garage.

If you haven't got a car to road trip it down here then lucky for you, it's actually a few minutes walk from Leura train station. The waitors were really friendly and the layout, especially with the car tyres gave it a very rusty garage like feel.

Regular cappuccino - $3.50
Chai Latte' - $3.50?
Pepperoni Focaccia with parmesan cheese and rocket - $9.50
Vegetarian Focaccia served with pumpkin, artichoke, parmesan cheese and rocket $9.50
The cappuccino was fairly decent, especially when you dunked in the small piece of chocolate provided as it gave it a slight hint of chocolate taste but no where near as much as a mocha.

The focaccias were really good. There was a slight crunch on the edges of the focaccia  and parts of the pepperoni were slightly burnt which helped gave it some texture. What made it so complete for me was when you placed the rocket on top of the focaccia and had it together. The vinaigrette on the rocket reduced the bitterness so the bitterness of the rocket didn't over power the toppings on the focaccia.

Please stay tuned on this blog for a few more reviews on some hot spots in Katoomba to come.
