So when I talk about Thai food to others, people often ask me 'have you been to
Holy Basil?' Thank goodness I can
finally say yes or the other question would be 'have you been to Chilli Jam'. I always hear good things about it so I have been quite curious to check it out myself plus how can I ever say no Thai food?!

Tom Yum soup is a must - I get it religiously as some of you may already know! It was a decent batch but I personally didn't find it chilli enough (but then again when will I ever?). Personally, the one at
Holy Basil was better. The pad thai and the pineapple fried rice were crazy though. It was sooo goood. The pad thai tasted fresh and the fried rice was sweet from the large chunks of pineapple. To be honest, I don't know if it tasted better because of the fact it was served in a pineapple. I always fall for those types of presentations so I never really know! The pad thai was so good we ended up ordering a second plate, everyone wanted more. Everyone wanted more!!

Gotta go eat!!
I really appreciate the fact there's so many Thai restaurants these days, but I find that a lot of their dishes are similar to Viet dishes I eat at home. Except for the Tom Yum soup, that looks really good!!! and yes, you're a chilli lover too? I like restaurants that give a generous dose of chilli sauce :) But wow, fried rice in a pineapple, now that's creative!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina - wow really? that's quite interesting! n yes heart chilli! <3
DeleteLooks like we order almost the same things when we go to a thai restaurant! :P I must say I agree with Tina in the above comment where she says there's heaps of thai restaurants around but are almost along the same level as Viet dishes.
