Cheers to another year! Farewell 2013 and bring on 2014

Man 2013 wrapped up way too quickly. I barely felt the festivity during Christmas and within a blink of an eye, NYE arrives. 2013 was an awesome year filled with lots of food, booze and travel.

Cheers to the end of 2013

Merry (belated) Christmas

MERRY (belated) CHRISTMAS FOLKS! I know I am more than 24 hours late but hey like they say, better late than never right? I hope every single one of you had a fab Christmas gathering filled with lots of fab food, joy and of course the booze with your fam bam, friends, the dogs, the cats and etc!

Roast pork with caramelised apples - cooked by Sir R

For Christmas this year, most of my friends were overseas so there was only two couples left in Sydney including DC and myself. Nevertheless, that didn't stop us from having an ultimate feasting. It was all about pacing our stomachs that night.

This year, Wendy and Co and I decided to try something new and instead of the normal roast turkey, we adopted to try a roast pork for our first time. We used Food Pornation's roast pork recipe and prayed for crispy crackling over mah jong.

Oxford Tavern, Petersham

Jamie Thomas has done it again. I welcome you to Oxford Tavern, the newest member to the Drink and Dine group, located up the road from all the Portuguese charcoal chicken joints on New Canterbury Road in Petersham. It is also the first member of the group to be located in the inner west.

Cheeseburgers - $5

I have always been quite a fan of the pubs/restaurants in the Drink and Dine group. Although I have a couple more to tick off, the food from the ones where I have visited so far such as the CarringtonForrestersHouse of Crabs and the Californian at the Santa Barbara, has never failed to disappoint. Most of the dishes and tapas on the menu may be considered 'pub food' but Jamie Thomas always seems to delivers it with a twist or finds a way to make them taste quite exceptional.

Three Williams Cafe, Redfern

Wow Three Williams Cafe seems to be the place to be these days. This new kid has only been on the block for a month but by 11.45 am on each weekend since it has opened, there is guaranteed to be a 15 to 20 minute wait. It is definitely the new cool kid in town.

Brioche french toast

Ever since Three Williams Cafe had opened its doors to the public, my instagram feed has been flooded with their dishes. From there, I basically go through the same process every weekend; I start to feel a bit hungry after the first photo is posted. The next photo comes along and my stomach begins to grumble. By the time I scroll to the third, fourth and fifth photo, all I want to do is to lick or eat my screen but that's another story.

Italian Date Nights - Round II

So we all know by now that there are two important things in my life; Italian food and potato. It is what I constantly crave and what I simply cannot live without. Most people say their patronus is either cake or chocolate, well mine is the power of the two combined.

I have Italian at least once a month but sometimes my cravings are so bad and impossible to control so I end up having Italian once a week for several weeks in a row. I never get sick of it and I really hope I become an Italian in my next life.

Earlier this year I posted Round I of Italian date nights and after reading all your responses, I thought it was time for Round II.
