Merry (belated) Christmas

MERRY (belated) CHRISTMAS FOLKS! I know I am more than 24 hours late but hey like they say, better late than never right? I hope every single one of you had a fab Christmas gathering filled with lots of fab food, joy and of course the booze with your fam bam, friends, the dogs, the cats and etc!

Roast pork with caramelised apples - cooked by Sir R

For Christmas this year, most of my friends were overseas so there was only two couples left in Sydney including DC and myself. Nevertheless, that didn't stop us from having an ultimate feasting. It was all about pacing our stomachs that night.

This year, Wendy and Co and I decided to try something new and instead of the normal roast turkey, we adopted to try a roast pork for our first time. We used Food Pornation's roast pork recipe and prayed for crispy crackling over mah jong.

Top right: roast vegetables
Bottom left: green apples with brown sugar and butter
Bottom right: Some greens just to make dinner appear healthier

Left: Pacific oysters
Top right: Tiger prawns and some more healthy greens

TADA!!

Andddd about an hour or so later (as our piece was bigger), we haz crackling!! Thanks Sir R for looking after mister piggey.

That's a wrap up folks and again, I wish every each and one of you a great (belated) Christmas and HAPPY HORRIDAYS!

Gotta go eat!!

  9. Dear Shan Shan,

    Merry belated Christmas to you.

Your pork looks delicious but I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a 'Pacific rock oyster' though? Sydney rock oysters are smaller, has a yellow tinge with an intense flavour while Pacific oysters are larger with a more creamy mouth feel.
